Forestry Management Technology
Are you interested in a rewarding career that allows you to work outdoors conserving our natural resources? Then the Forest Management Technology program at Wayne Community College is for you.
This program prepares you to manage and produce forest resources. Course work includes instruction in woods and field skills, tree identification, timber measurement, logging and timber harvesting, forest propagation and regeneration, forest fire-fighting, resource management, equipment operation and maintenance, record-keeping, sales and purchasing operations, and personnel supervision.
There is a broad range of different employment opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally. Developing employment opportunities make this a graduate’s job market.

Articulation Agreements
These are agreements with universities that allow you to transfer seamlessly once you graduate from Wayne.
North Carolina State University
You can transfer from WCC to NCSU to earn a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management.

Employment: You will be prepared for employment through a variety of class and laboratory activities with a focus on practical skills.
WCC Forest Management Graduation Data
Salary: Employment opportunities exist in private industry as well as state and federal governmental agencies with starting salaries ranging from $31,000 to $45,000.
Further Education: Additional educational opportunities are available through articulation with N.C. State University Forest Management.
